About Us

The owners of Mile Post 114 Model Trains, George and Lois Boatwright, are a long time railroad family.  George is a retired Amtrak engineer after 32 years of railroad service, and his love for trains has carried over into his retirement.  Lois has also worked for Amtrak for the past 23 years.  Recently moving from Florida we now call Maryland our home.

Since moving to Maryland, George has become a member of the Train Collector's Association (TCA).  With his many years of railroad engineer experience, George is now expanding his knowledge of model trains by visiting several operating layouts in the Cecil County area.  He has met and became friends with several of the area modelers and enjoys sharing and exchanging ideas on how to make layouts more interesting and run more efficiently.

He has also joined the North East Rotary Club and the North East Chamber of Commerce.
